RAYS Tea Time - Closure Update 06/26/07
Dear Friends,
Thank you for showing all your continued support during our liquidation sale. Our sale was originally planned to conclude on July 28th. However, we have moved up the date to June 29th so as to not draw out the process since many of us have been working 7 day work weeks.
It has been a pleasure for all of us to serve this community of San Mateo and we are proud to have been a part of it. There has been some confusion as to why we are closing the store.
- First and foremost, it is not by our choice that we are leaving.
- Second, our closing has nothing to do with competing businesses.
- Finally, the landlord simply wishes to have her space back for her personal use.
Many of you have asked if and when we will relocate. At this time, my staff and I will be taking at least a 3 month hiatus before considering any options. Should we decide to relocate, we will notify all of you who are already on our newsletter list or mailing list. If you would like to receive any updates by e-mail, please contact me at angela@raysteatime.com.
We will update the website periodically to let you know about any new developments.
Again, I would like to express my thanks for the seven wonderful years we have had. We will have walked away with great memories and many friendships.

RAYS Tea Time Closing
Dear Friends -
After 7 years of realizing a personal and family dream, I am deeply saddened to inform you all that we will be closing RAYS Tea Time. As all of you know, we put our heart and soul into building the business over the years. We are proud of the successes we achieved, the many loyal customers we looked forward to serving every day, our constant commitment to quality, and our contributions to the Downtown San Mateo community. Unfortunately, our landlord has decided to end our lease on the space. We did our best to renegotiate and propose alternative solutions, but ultimately we were unsuccessful. At this time, we have decided against relocating for various reasons.
The RAYS Tea Time family we have built over the years is what has made this a truly wonderful and cherished experience. We thank you all for your support and friendship.

Food and Beverage Service Ending, 10 Pack Drink Cards & Gift Certificates
Due to the impending closure of RAYS Tea Time, we are faced with having to liquidate our inventory quickly in the next few months. In order to facilitate the "going out of business" sale, we will be suspending our food and beverage by the end of the month.
If you have any prepaid 10 pack drink cards, please use them on or before Sunday, April 29, 2007. Any unused cards will be honored for the remaining value to be used for any merchandise in the store after this date. Gift certificates can be used for food and beverage until the end of the month or for merchandise in the store until our final close date. Teabags, loose tea, tea pots, and accessories will still be available for purchase. We encourage you to use any gift certificates as soon as possible for the best selection on merchandise. If you have any questions about using your prepaid 10 pack drink cards or gift certificates, please feel free to call us or stop by the store.
Customer Appreciation Celebration - Sunday, April 29, 2007 1-5PM
After the conclusion of our food and beverage service at the end of this month, we will be shifting our focus to liquidating our merchandise in preparation for closure. We would like one more opportunity to thank the loyal RAYS Tea Time customers who have supported us for the last 7 years. This Sunday, April 29th, we will have a farewell celebration from 1-5PM to show our appreciation. Please feel free to bring your family and friends. A variety of snacks and teas will be served.
For those of you who have stamp cards, please come by and redeem it for a free drink. Regardless of how many stamps you have on your card, it is good for any drink on the menu that day.
RAYS Tea Time will still be open for tea sales during the liquidation phase. If you are unable to join us on Sunday, please feel free to stop by and visit another day. We look forward to seeing you!
